28 weeks + / A Name?

Week 28 has snuck up on me! It didn't hit me how close I am to my labor day until I thought, 28 weeks along means 12 weeks left!

My dr. appt was this week. I got the rhogam shot. My weight went up another 2 or so pounds, so I'm tracking right inline with my weight gain for Hadley. You wouldn't know it from the looks of my belly! My blood pressure and the baby's heartbeat were both good. From now until 36 weeks I will go to the doc's every 2 weeks!

My cold has finally left me - today. It was rough!

This little girl moves all the time! She is so strong too. Next time you see me, just watch my belly. She'll put on a show and you'll be able to see it!

I'm still carrying very low. I think carrying low, the summer heat, having a cold, and not resting well are all reasons that I have no stamina. That embarrasses me. But, oh well.

I was waiting to let Chris post the name announcement, but the wait is over! He's had plenty of time. Thanks to Hadley, we have decided on a name (but reserve the right to change it if we want). The winner is:

Madeline Kate Gundersen

I was playing with Hadley and asked if she could say Madeline (yes, I asked her if she could say other names too). She actually said it very well and then pointed to my belly! So, the decision was made.

Approximately 11 weeks or less until I get to meet my newest baby girl! I am so excited!

26.5 weeks - General Thoughts

Today I've been reading some birth stories online. I read so many birth stories before Hadley was born. Learning about all of these experiences did help me prepare for Hadley's birth. My recollection of Hadley's birth has yet to fade, and I hope it never does. However, reading a story today did remind me of something about her birth that I hadn't noticed. This story ended with the comment, "There's nothing sweeter than the smell of a newborn baby." It hit me then that I didn't smell Hadley as a newborn. I had a pretty rough cold the week she was born and couldn't smell anything (interestingly enough, I am recovering from a bad summer cold as I type this). Maybe when this baby is born, I will get to experience the newborn smell!

Today, while lying on the floor with Hadley, the baby moved. Yeah, I know, big deal. Well, she moved below my belly button and pushed off of my back. I could see her whole body outline on my stomach! Not arms and legs, but I could wrap my hands around her! It was so crazy!
