milestones
I think I forgot to post a very important milestone! During week 12 I felt the baby move! Well, the truth is I felt the baby "flutter". It feels just like that at this stage - a flutter on the inside of my belly. I have not felt him (or her) move since, but hope to again soon. It was so neat and exciting! I can't wait until Chris can feel the baby too. Hadley might even think it's fun... or weird... time will tell!

13 weeks tomorrow
I guess the first trimester is over now? The strange part is, I've felt worse this week than all other weeks. Work was a very different, busy week. When I got home Wednesday I was completely exhausted. I asked Chris to watch Hadley while I took a 30 minute nap. Bad idea. When I got up 30 minutes later, not only was I still tired, but I also felt sick! Over the next few days I've gotten a little bit of extra sleep to make up for the first half of the week. I actually had the thought, "How did I function being pregnant and working full-time? Why am I so tired?" I have no idea what the issue is/was. It could be that I now have a one year old that takes some of my energy. Or maybe it is that I was healthier then?
According to the wonderful internet, the baby is between 2.5 and 3 inches long and weighs up to .7 ounces.

12 weeks and 2 days
It's been a busy week (I'm exhausted), so I didn't get to post here on Monday like I meant to. Baby G's 12 week appointment was this Monday. It was very quick. Checked my weight, blood pressure, asking me if I was feeling okay, any concerned, and then checked for the heartbeat! While it was great to hear the heartbeat (even if it was only for a few seconds), I was disappointed that the doppler wasn't one that would tell us the heart rate. The doctor said it sounded like it was between 150 and 160. Chris and I both agree that it was slower than Hadley's (165 at 12 weeks). The key was, the doctor said it was a good, strong heartbeat! 4 more weeks to my 16 week check-up, and then 4 more to the ultrasound!!
I guess this week I am switching from the first trimester to the second? Where has the time gone??

11 Weeks!
I read online that at 11 weeks the baby is about the size of a plum and could fit in the palm of my hand! How sweet! I think the fingers and toes look like fingers and toes now, no webbing. All of the baby's organs should exist and now will grow and improve over the next 30 weeks.
My uterus should start to cause my stomach to poke out (or should I say, poke out more??) now. This will probably mean that my uterus is moving up and off of my bladder - YEAH! - however, this also means I won't be able to sleep on my stomach for a lot longer. If you are a stomach sleeper, I know you understand how big a deal this is!
I still feel good. I'm getting less tired. No real change in appetite yet. I can tell my belly is different, but no drastic changes. I'm sure those will come soon since my stomach muscles have been stretched out from my first pregnancy. The many joys of motherhood! Babies are worth all of the sacrifices!
Daddy, Mommy, and Hadley love you Baby G #2!!!

10 Weeks
Today was the 10 week mark - 25% of the way through this pregnancy already!! Everyone is correct, the second pregnancy does seem to go by more quickly than the first.
So, pregnancy symptoms? I still feel tired, but fortunately I have a wonderful husband that is happy to let me take naps! I'm not having to get up quite as many times at night to relieve myself. The baby is probably still resting on my bladder, so I think this is more a function of not drinking fluids after 8pm. Bloating is the biggest battle, but an infrequent one. The worst case of bloating thus far has made me feel like my belly is already 5 months pregnant.
Chris and I have talked some about where this baby will sleep once he or she is ready for a crib. Will we put the kids in same room so we can keep our current guest room? Or will they wake each other up, and as a result, cause us to lose more sleep than is necessary? Decisions, decisions...
Also, will we move Hadley to a big girl bed close to her 2nd birthday so the baby can use her crib? Or should we convert her crib to a toddler bed and buy another convertible crib for Baby G #2? Hmmm, that sounds pricey... Might not be in the budget if we follow through on the kitchen remodel this summer!
2 weeks until our next doctor's visit :D
