Chris and I went to my first doctor's appointment today. The baby looked good (yes, just one), is measuring on target, and had a strong heartbeat that we could see but not yet hear. I am sticking to the 10/5 due date even though the doc said 10/4.
We went to a new doctor because Hadley's doctor does not do deliveries anymore. I really like the office. All of the nurses had laptops, so my information was ready no matter what room I entered! The ultrasound looked to be more detailed than I remember with Hadley at 8 weeks (but still not extraordinarily detailed). The office also had a room where I could get my lab work done instead of having to go to the other side of Baptist Hospital. Oh yeah, and the important part, the doctor seemed nice too! Next visit in 4 weeks...

7.5 weeks
Time is flying by as it usually does. I'm feeling pretty good. No real morning sickness, just some periods of not feeling quite right. I am working on my water intake and diet which seem to be helping. The increase in water seems to have helped the bloating.
I'm anxious to see the doctor. I don't feel like anything is wrong, I'm just generally anxious. The added pressure of having an exam in May (this is the biggie) in addition to the typical concerns of being able to handle 2 kids, juggling work and being a mom (a good mom), are all not helping. I'm not losing my mind (yet) ;) Each night when I pray I give my worries over to God. He tells us not to worry, so I'll keep working on it. I may have to give my worries over every night... and if that's the case, I'll do it!

6 weeks tomorrow
And my nose works! If I didn't already know I was pregnant, I might've the last day or two when my nose kicked into overdrive. Changing dirty diapers is going to be interesting...
I think I'm also getting a little tired. I took a good nap today after a good night's sleep.
Both normal pregnancy symptoms - looks like we are off to a great start!

5 week update
I'm 5.5 weeks right now. Feeling great! No morning sickness so far, just like I felt with Hadley. I've been going back and forth regarding the gender of this baby (I guess it's too soon to know if there could be more than one?!). Initially, I thought the baby was a boy... I quickly realized this was because of balance - one girl, one boy. Then, I thought this is a girl because Chris and I want/need to have a boy to carry on the family name. So, a girl would keep me from feeling relieved ;) Later on I thought this was a girl for ... we'll call them mathematical... reasons. Once I realized I couldn't explain this reasoning very well, I quit guessing!
Hmmm, I wonder what the internet has to say?? Feel free to make your own guesses! We should find out mid-May (right after I take my next actuarial exam). That will be a great post-exam reward!
